TREX cam way to much?
My friend who owns this car is a novice to high performance cars especially ones with nearly 400 HP and weighing in at 2900#s.
The car currently has a TREX cam from Thunder Racing and he and I both agree that it is more than likely way to much cam for him and for the car to be any kind of steetable and so we have been looking for a replacement cam.
I have seen some good results out of the GM hotcams, but wanted to get all of ya'lls take on a good cam that will have a moderate ammount of lope to it, still make more power then the stocker all while being able to idle at 500 RPM and not die or even break valve springs like it has in the past.
So let me know what you think, as any help will be most appreciated.

sounds pretty streetable to me.
In the mean time it is really helping having all these opinions. It is always nice to have others with experience with different cams chime in because it gives me more options to present to him. I have been out of the game for a while so I am catching back up with what cams people are using now.

He has HP tuners that came with the car, but I am not to sure about just diving in and tuning the car. I may suggest to him that we have it tuned first at a professional dyno shop and then go from there.
600 bucks is what it costs to get it done there, but after buying a new cam at around 300 bucks, having to rent or buy tools, having to buy miscellanious parts and then also basicly having to pull the car apart for a week or two that might now be a bad option.
I will let you all know.
Thanks everyone for all your help, I will keep you all updated as to what happens with the car.
