Default cam horsepower ????

my friend has a cam 228/228 585/585 or (228/228 590/590) 114 lsa and full bolt-ons with 3" true duals and tune and put down 404 hp 386 tq .... i have a bunch of people saying it is not possible to put down this much power through a4 with 3:42 gears..... is it possible to put this power down?

Yes it's possible with a good tune.

some shops here in texas says it is impossible because it is such a small cam....

Well, that doesnt have anything to do with it. You will have drivetrain loss through the 4L60e and a stall converter which would make you have lower numbers. Cam only...I can't see that happening unless it is with something like the T-rex...and it would still be less than that most likely.

the car has a stock converter and put down that much power and yes i understand with a aftermarket stall it will put down less power ....why is it that some performance shops say that it will not put down that much power because it is so small of a cam and they deal with cams everyday and all day long and they know what they are saying...

my numbers arein my sig. thats through an a3 but i was told with the stock a4 it would have been around 380. and my cam is bigger than the one you listed.

are those numbers your asking sae corrected?
