Either way getting a v-8 of that size to do that would be awsome to drive.

....in the cup cars they use 302's right? I though there was a displacement limit of 5.0 liters. When I went to the rolex race they had 5.0 liters

Wow, lots of responses quick! Thanks. I dont know what all the ricer comments are about though. Nascar can go to 9000, are they rice? They run between 7500-9000 for hours during a race. I was thinking of keeping the stock cubes because I thought it would be too hard and expensive to go any bigger. Finding a cam wouldnt be hard either, just get one ground for the application. I was more or less worried about what kind of pistons and rods I would need, forged crank?, vavletrain components, if I would have to swap to a solid roller, and other useful tips like the dry sump oil deal.

I love high reving V8's. They sound badass, they are loud as ****, and they hual some major ***. I am not a huge 1/4 mile racer so I dont really care about that. One of my buddys who races modifieds at the local track said you can actually buy used nascar motors for $5000-8000. After just one offical nascar race they lose 40hp but they still work just fine. Thought about going that route but I wanted to see if maybe you could do it with our ignition and fuel injection system.

Can you really purchase a used Nascar Motor, that would be sick. I think the SB 2.2 heads cost 5000-8000 anyway.

Basically how I interpret threads like this:

Anyone who creates a thread saying what does it take to rev 8k, 9k, 10k in an ls1 is usually a "ricer/idiot"

Anyone who creates a thread in the same way but for a reason and states it is just asking for advice.

If you would have stated more of a reason for revving as in sound, long power band, etc...there would not have been any rice comments or at least there shouldn't have been.

Your recent post to me shows that you are asking for a reason, not being a "ricer."

Yes, I forget the website. Try and google it. But don't post links unless they are a sponsor.
