Default HPE S Cam Vs TSP MS3

wondering which would be the best for a street/strip set up on a stock cube motor.. with patriot perimeter heads, pacesetter LT's and ORY, LM exhaust, 3800 TCI stall, 3.73s.. which would be better of the 2..

Theyre both going to be very similar in where they make power and how much. A friend of mine has the s cam in his 04 gto M6 and made 367 rwhp with that cam, longtubes, and a coldair. I remember him tellin me that it doesnt really 'come on' until 3500 rpms though. I cant remember what the LSA is on that cam, but you may keep an eye on that with both cams and see if you can get a couple of degrees advance ground into the cam to make it a little more friendly with the auto.

I haven't heard much on the S cam, but the MS3 has proven itself over and over again!

Here are some threads with some recent MS3 numbers:

We have cam packages available that include all the necessary parts to complete a cam install so you wont have to hunt down all the gaskets/bolts necessary. If you need some pricing just shoot me a pm!

I haven't seen anything on the HPE S cam but the MS3 is def. a proven performer. What size valves are on those Patriot heads?

I think they look pretty close. The G5X3 specs are "secret" but its at least bigger than 232/240 and it has .600/.610 lift on a 112 or 114 LSA. The "S" cam is 238/242, .608/612 on 115LSA.

I'd like to see some numbers with that S cam and a set of LS6 heads!

G5X3 is 234/242 112 or 114LSA as Predator stated
MS3 is 237/242 113 LSA
"S" Cam is 238/242 on a 115 or 113 LSA

They are all very similar, but the MS3 has gotten more feedback on this website

The x3 is more of a nitrous based cam with its HUGE split, but yet still makes fantastic power NA for what it is. The others are great cams as well, I was just pointing that out.

They are all big compression cams to harness all the power they are capable of.
A good exemple is the AFR 59 cc/.040 gasket/flycut/G5X3 combo.

Keyword is Flycut. To get the best out of any of these cams, you will need to raise the compression and flycut the pistons.
