TSP/PRC Stage II Darts. Smoking issue.

i just helped finish an install on my buddys trans am started smoking and would not stop so i called tsp and suggested i grind down the oil drainback hole a little so we tried that and we replaced his ported oil pump with the stocker no more smoking go figure so i dont know which of those things we did cured the smoking but it runs like a champ now smoke free.

Just to note, my car had the entire PCV system removed completely. The only vacuum lines to my intake were the brake booster and the line for the HVAC controls inside the car. The only other way for oil to get into my intake is if I SEVERELY overoiled my K&N filter! I hope Dart is able to find the problem with my heads just so everyone will find out what was going on with them.

Galen, any update?

I disassembled mine yesterday and found that half the valve seals were torn. TSP is sending me some new ones so I'm hoping that will keep mine from smoking.
I'll know in a few days if not then

I got my engine fired up and at first there was the usual smoke from the initial start up but now that it has been running for awhile, it does not smoke at all.
I haven't driven it yet, still got a few details to work out.
The valve seals that were on the heads originaly were trashed and just down right junk!, the new ones are much better.
I also did alot of clean up port work on heads but otherwise they are a real nice set of heads.
I hope to get a dyno run in a few weeks.
Here is a video clip of it running.

I just installed my as Cast Dart Pro Ls1 225 heads. I am also having oil consumption issues. 2 quarts per 150 miles. I tried with just the Pcv system. Also tried with a catch can. Not much oil in the catch can. Lot of smoke out the rear. Idle is decent until I get on it. Lots of smoke. Anyway I got my set from Summit about 4 months back when they were on sale. Fully assembled new in factory cartons. I only used a little lock tite on the rocker bolts. This weekend I will Remove and use an oil safe Thread sealant instead of the lock tite to see if my oil issues go away. If the rocker bolts dont solve this I will install new Valve seals. Maybe get a set of Comp. Does anyone know what the exact size is for the valve seals? Can I use a Comp set, or do I have to buy the replacement from Dart? This really stinks all this time and effort. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

I never had any problems and I took mine apart and re-used the valve seals (carefully). Have you tried calling Dart? What do you mean about the PCV system, are you running the stock setup? That is a ton of oil!!!
