Default TR 224 or TSP 228R?

I know it's been discussed a million times but every application is different. My situation:

All mods in sig. Car is a fair weather car. Mostly street driven. I'll take it to the track ~10 times a year. I want to see a significant drop in E.T. Plans are for a cam this year and heads next year (AFR's?). How much more power is there in the 228R over the TR224? Is there going to be much difference. I also want to run the 918 springs for now. I don't want to spin the motor too much past 6500 RPMs.

Thanks for the help.

If emissions isn't a concern I think a cam with a 228ish duration would be better in the long run. Many people get the 224 just to upgrade later on. I got the 224 because of emissions, but now that's not a concern because of OBDII so I'll probably get something around 228 or 230ish duration. I believe 228 is plenty stretty friendly especially if you have 4.10's.

I went with East Side Performance's recommendation: 224/228. Mine is in the .580s lift. Perfect cam for street/strip/driveability. I love mine

How would a 228/228 work with 3.23s? Just a daily here. Don't care about track times. Want a bad *** street cam. I'll probably have a 3600 stall before the cam.

When the funds are right, I'll get the 228. I don't want to go too low. No emissions testing here. I should be good with 3400 stall and 3.23 gear.

your right about the TR224 on 114 cam. Its really a nice cam. the cam and bolt on with a MN6 will put you at about 370 RWHP. That's a good number, but the 2002- 2005 Z06s put that down stock. Im looking for a 224/228 or 228/228 on a 112. I also got the TR224 because of NYS and VA emmissions test. But we dont have to worry about that anymore

Id even do a 226/230 if I can find one
