Default Rebuild.How long?

Just wondring how long it SHOULD take an experinced mechanic to rebuild and LS1 back to factory specs.Thanks

The assembly of the engine should take less than a day (experinced builder) but it will depend on the machine shop to get every thing in order. Some my be backed up a few days/weeks.

I'd take this chance to build a pretty sick budget stroker or 402, if there is such a thing. I imagine it wouldn't be a whole helluva lot more than rebuilding an LS1 to factor specs. Either way, good luck!

It depends on how much machining must be done. If you want them to measure all the specs and no machine work has to be done it would still be two days. There are alot of specs, and measuring takes time. Let us know what happens

Depends on what you call "a whole helluva lot", the stroker crank alone is gunna cost at least $800 versus resusing your stock crank and polishing it for $50. everything else - pistons, rods, rings, bearings - yes, they are somewhat comparable in price.
