I have a double roller timing chaing and a futral ported LS6 oil pump. When we torque down the oil pump, it is touching the timing chain. It is not allowing the motor to crank because the oil pump is contacting the chain.
What can I do? I am in the middle of the cam install in the middle of the night and I have been working on it for two days. What can I do? Calls appreciated!!!!!

We used the old crank gear to seat the new double roller chain. I dont know what else to do? It seems like it can move around easily even after we "seat" it. Am I missing something? I cant find it anywhere online!

well I only have .020 p/v clearance on the intake running 2.055 valve and a 1.60on the exhaust side 59cc chamber PP ls6 style heads the cam is a ms3 238/242 with a 112 lsa my heads are milled and that only made my clearances worse there’s also a pic of the chain and pump clearance for those that are interested since that what this thread was started for. if anyone has done some fly cutting PM me with some helpful info before I start

All of us were exausted after working so hard and so long, once we got it started we were rediculously happy and proud! The install wasn't bad at all the worst part is doing the locks on the springs for cyl. #7 & #8. The rest is pretty straight forward!
I figured i would just throw this in this thread...
When I was installing the new double roller chain it came with a new cam gear which had 4 holes in it, 3 for the cam bolts and 1 for the dowel at the end of the cam to go through. As i put the new cam gear on the end of the cam and began to tighten down i noticed that the cam dowel wasn't just slidding into the camgear hole as it did when i removed the old cam gear. I figured it was just a smaller tolerance. Well i began to tighten down and the cam gear wasn't seating flush to the end of the cam as i spun it. When i went to remove it it wouldn't come off as the dowel was now wedge into the cam gear hole. After using a puller to remove it, the dowel came out of the end of the cam. We then punched it out with a srew driver and since the new dowel was aluminum and not iron like the original it was mangeled. Brent grinded down the newly formed lip on the dowl while i filled out and enlarged the cam gear hole for the dowel. This worked and allowed the cam gear to seat properly. I think Futral and/or Crane (i think it was a crane) should check their dowel or hole specs again....as we lost about 3hrs to this issue.
