what would the cold start have to do with the torque on the car?

Stock LS6 Heads or AFR 205's and the Katech Torquer cam will give you all the low end you want and it will be right above the stock LS6 on top!!!

I actually gained torque across the entire rpm band by going to a 237cc ported Ls6 head, No other changes were made.
