Default cam install progress

JRP lifter tool won't slide in passenger side, its stuck on #4 or #6

edit, spun cam both directions.

also pen magnet is stuck where a pushrod goes, happened once inside one of them but got it out, right now stuck in another.

open for any suggestions guys

another edit: since I'm stuck, is it okay to lower the oil pan and change the pump and the chain before changing the cam out?

OKAY BIG NEW QUESTION:::::::::

talked with thunder racing, they said it could be extra aluminum left in the block due to the tool not sliding in. my options are left with pen magnet method, or just spinning the cam hoping it will stay up, what would you guys do???

also, still about the oil pump, can I change this before messing with the cam?

i dont see it as a problem to put the pump on while your stuck on something..at least your doning something other than letting the vehicle sit there, I would leave the timing chain last.
Good luck!
