How much play should I have in my rockers? Took the rocker/valve cover off tonight to have a look see, because my engine is making a bit of a rattly noise and thought I'd see if anything was loose. All looks pretty neat in there, which is good, but I gave the rockers a bit of a wiggle with my hand anyway... 7 of them (only did one side) move sideways very slightly - 1 of them didn't seem to, but I presume it might be under tension from a pushrod or something. Is this normal, or should there be no play at all?
Are they easy to get in and out to inspect the pushrods?

Sounds like there is nothing to worry about then - I'm pretty sure the noise is timing chain related, but it is so little effort taking the rocker covers off, thought I'd have a look-see anyway
