Default Block repair

The block is a good candidate for the Darton MID sleeves. I would not attempt to fix it with a dry liner since the aluminum appears to be cracked. The MID installation process completely eliminates the aluminum wall so a cracked wall makes no difference.

I can resleeve that block to 4.125" + bore if you are interested in putting together an all bore engine or something larger with a stroker crank.

You can PM me for pricing.

Steve

Default cam timing

I dont understand what you guys are talking about with the timing marks being off? I have a double roller siting in front of me that has up to 8 degrees of advance or retard. For each degree there is a respective keyway in the crankshaft. I am about to install this chain and cam in my motor and am trying to figure out how it could be installed wrong? Even if the dot for the cam was installed at the top and the crank dot at the top it would still be correct. Anyone have any comments on this?

This is why it's a good idea to degree a cam. As far as thne double roller goes. Does it have a 2 piece crank gear with several offset marks going around the outter gear, and one single mark on the inner gear hub? Or is it a one peice gear? I have seen some and you use the single mark on the gear hub for timing, and the outter marks on the gear itself is for advance and retard.

OH! Don't waste your money on that block. It's junk.

This is what I was talking about, people aligning the wrong marks. I've seen pictures of the same thing before, but never actually used a double roller myself so I can't say exactly what happened. Obviously something was installed wrong for that to happen to a motor.
