Is my block fixable??? Okay guys I was finishing up my rebuild I have done over the past month and when I went to start it I had problems. At first the car would act like it had no spark plugs and never really start up.
Then It started to do this...
I figured something is wrong and pulled my heads and this is what I found...
and...
I thought I had my timing perfect...
The specs on the cam are 221/221 .558/.558 116 lsa Lunati Pn 55099
and I even had stock rocker arms and pushrods in for the startup.
Is my block fixable after the crack in the water jacket? WTF do I do?

Darton has sleeves that might fix it. But for the price of the sleeves and machining, how far would you be from just getting a new 402 or another LS1?
Plus a new motor could come with a warranty...

No there isnt damage and there arent 2 marks the damage is only to like 3 of the pistons.
Only 1 needs to be resleeved... but I think there is a crack in the block by the water jacket.
Also one of the bad ports on the drside head there is a crack on the wall between it and the water jacket... I think the heads were bad.

Bad heads don't cause valves to hit pistons. This has happened before with doulble rollers not being set up properly. I don't know the details, b/c I've never personally dealt with one.
Ouch that sucks. There is 3 different key ways on a double roller, I forget the exact directions, but there is a specific way to line everything up..
You can get a brand new LS6 block from Texas speed for $599. Would be cheaper than fixing that block..

What is the best way to do this?
When I pull outh the engine should I pull the trans with it, and what is the easiest/cheapest way to get a block... maybe its time to get my stroker setup... can I use my block still if I go a bigger bore?
