What gaskets did you use on the headers?

Not sure but i had the same things going on with me and i could not figure out what the problem was. But once i put the corvette o2's on and put in new plugs. It drove like a champ. Started ticking again and turned out to be a loose spark plug.

Guess I'll get the O2s checked...just had O2 extensions put on with LT headers in Sept...could they be bad already?

Depends, but the wires used for the extensions are hard to work with and usually end up faulty when soldered or burnt by the heat from the header, the corvette o2 wires are already long enough from the factory so you do not need extensions.

when I did my cam swap it ran fine on start up and after we fired it up again it started ticking real bad. I pulled the valve covers and found that one of the bolts for my rockers came loose. so i re tourqued all the rockers, rolled the engine over 180 and double checked. since then its been perfect except for the sweing machine sound the valvetrain makes now with the big nasty stick installed lol
also I did have a wire break but it looked like it was a good wire, and the spark was hittin the header where the wire was split makin a pretty nice little tick.

Did you end up checking your spark plugs. I have a tick and its from a spark plug. It won't tighten, because the dueschebag that put the plugs in over tightened them and stripped the hole, push it in the tick stops, drive around a little bit and its back, push it in and it stops. Im gonna take it out and helicoil it this week.

Is it from outside the engine or inside. If it sounds like valvetrain, pull the valvecovers and pull out a few pushrods to see if they have scratches from hitting on the heads.

Sounds VERY much like it's coming from inside passenger side

WOW! Amazing what some sunlight will do for your eyes when looking for probs. Went out this morning and 2 things were majorly wrong.

1. Volant CAI was OFF!! Fell off at the MAF.

2. My EGR! blockoff on the passneger side....broke. Piece of **** Pacesetter piece broke off at the weld point. That's where the ticking is coming from

That's alot easier to stomach than the prospects of a bad lifter. Doesn't knowing how to weld seem as essential as knowing how to wipe your butt?
