Older XE lobes
The one I cant find any threads on is the 228/232 .539/.541.
Anyone have any experiance with this one?
Its been recommended by my tuner. He's not a big fan of big lift...and I agree to a certain extent.
Im only looking for some general impressions/thoughts.
Thanks.

Ive had several recommendations, but this one seems to be calling out to me
Sometimes you just gotta go with your instincts.
Look at XFI and LSK lobes (XE-R are becoming mild
)Good cam to add a set of 1.8 Crane rockers though.
A few years ago a 220's duration xe lobed cam was considered very aggressive.
When I bought my xe-r cam a couple months ago xe-r was considered aggressive...I guess now it is already moving down the totem pole.
i just recently swapped out to an f14 232/234 and feel that this is a much better more streetable cam. f14 makes more torque and comes on alittle earlier and idle is about the same.

The one thing im trying to avoid is the added cost of doubling up on the springs.
I was wanting a bit more durations this time as my '04 had a baby cam (TR220). It had all the torque you could ask for....too much, actually.
But I also want to stay with the 918's.
If I go too much lift, you fall in that gray area of.....918's will work...but, be smart and go duals.
My car is not a track car, so I wont be beating it silly.
Real reason Im asking is because I see similar cars with like setups: 1 with a TR224 and 1 with older XE lobes...say a 222/224. Both make very similar power. So, I ask myself, why add undue stress to the valvetrain when I can get like results from a slightly less aggressive profile.
Am I making sence? Sorry, I knew if I got too involved I would start rambling.
And for those that want to know....my car is an M6, stock except for Lt's and full 2.5" exhaust.
