Default cam question

im thinking of doing this cam, i know you will say its not worth it but i found one for a good price and dont have the money for a verter right now, 206 / 212 .515 / .522 112 LSA 800-5800 RPM Power Band. Excellent low-end power. Mild Camshaft great for automatic cars with the stock or mild aftermarket torque converter and daily drivers. Works well with Crane 1.8 Roller Rockers.

Will i need to change my valve springs with this little turd???

Save your money for the cam and get the converter first.

The best thing that cam has going for it is the narrow lobe sep. Otherwise, you'll only see similar gains to an LS6 cam swap. Seems most people who go to the LS6 cam, later go with something bigger. Why do this labor intensive swap twice?

What are your goals overall? Emissions legal? Daily Driver? Track Car?

As far as valve springs, LS6 springs would be your best bet for that "little turd". Not saying it isn't a good cam, but it makes more power where a stall converter will mask it's gains. If you want a converter, get that first then figure out what compromises you want to live with.

you MIGHT (and let me say it again) MIGHT get away with stock springs on that cam, if you're going to put a cam in your car its worth doing right and getting some better valve springs with it.
even IF this cam works with your stock springs it'll wear them out fairly quick.

That cam still has a -15* overlap, its not going to lope hardly at all
Get the ASA cam with some LS6 vavle springs. I have heard that cam has great low end pull. The ASA has a +11* it will lope much better for your liking
