If you are going to try and compare the sounds of the bearings you need to simulate the exact situation with both cams.

If the cam you pulled out was oiled, oil the second cam. I sure as hell hope you installed it with some assembly lube, if not you are going to have some problems.

You may want to check and see if there is some dirt or debris on the cam.

If the cam bearings are worn bad you will be able to see the color of the bearing itself (not the coating), its pretty obvious.

did you twist the cam while installing or did you go straight in? if you were twisting it you may have scored/gouged the bearing. i would pull the cam back out and use a good LED light to look into the bearings to see if that may be the case. But it isnt normal for there to be a grinding noise. Hell if you use a good assembly lube somtimes the weight of the timing gear pin is enough to make the cam rotate till the dowel hits bottom.

Grinding noise? No way! If you had to ask the question it's time to get somone to help you with this install because your question answers itself.

This is my first install. You can never be too carefull right.

The noise was tha cam rubbing either on the cam sensor or the back of the block.I didnt have the cam gear on and it was pushed back too far

Installed the cam gear and no noise smooth as a whislte
