LS1 parts are interchangeable w/LS6 parts from 98-2002. I am currently swapping from an LS1 to an LS6 block & re-using the front & rear covers. Am re-using heads, cam, intake, & accessories. You will need new gaskets....etc.. I would also suggest using the LS6 timing set. What is described here is a 346 LS1/LS6 swap. Don't know what a 427 LS6 block is. If you are describing an LS7 block, then parts are not interchangeable.

The blocks only have slight differences. Our 02 WS.6 has an LS6 block in it from the factory. Had an LS6 Clutch as well.
