Default torquer2/fm13 with heads?

i have a question reguarding both the torquer2 and the fm13/14 cams. im kinda of caught between the two. most setups ive seen with these cam have only been cam only with no head work. both cams make great power and my goal is to be as close to 400/400 cam only as possible without going into redline. now i was wondering what kind of heads would work best for these cams. im kind of on a budget which is why i was going cam only but may be able to spare a few extra $ for a set of heads. will either cam and a set of decent heads put me to 450 at the wheel? with supporting mods. i daily drive the car but not too worried about driveablity. i also plan on alittle juice but not too much. im just looking for the best bang for the buck to put me around the 450 mark without the juice. thanks for the help

Either can do it but with proper DCR, which usually spells high compression and possible flycut.
Cam only 400 rwhp is reachable with those in M6 but not 400 TRQ

If "going into redline" as you put it means operating the engine at or above 6k then you need to seriously reconsider your cam choices. All of those cams will require you to spin the engine to 6500+ to get the full potential. In fact, all cams will need to be above the 6k "redline" indicated on the tachometer. The fuel shutoff is set at 6200 stock. Put some good springs in there and spin her on up. With an 01-02 I wouldn't be afraid to rev it to 6500-6600, with the limiter set at 6800. They have the LS6 rodbolts and the LS6 has the limiter at 6500 stock, and you know that GM was on the safe side when they set that, they're not gonna have the car living on the ragged edge from the factory. If you have a pre 01 model, or just want the extra piece of mind, spring for some Katech rodbolts.

My Z06 with headers, ported TB, underdrive pulley, and an air cleaner put down 423 rwhp and 408 rwtq with the F14. That was with the stock heads LS6 untouched.

I would go with the F13, you will make as much, if not more power that the Torquer 2, and make a nice bit more torque
