Default I'm impressed with Comp Cams

I couldn't run LSK lobes on my cam (just a little too much lift for my springs), so I dropped back to XFI lobes. Only thing is, they didn't have one that was a direct replacement for the LSK lobe that I wanted. I had all but given up looking through the online catalog for a lobe that would work, and as a last resort I called Comp and explained to them what I needed, thinking that maybe they could grind what I needed on a XFI lobe. (They couldn't) But, after a few minutes of searching, he found exactly what I needed. When I asked where he had gotten it from, he told me that they have a lot of lobes on file that they don't list in their catalog. What I wanted was:
LSK Lobe--Duration @ .006/ 269 .050/ 219 .200/145 Lift/.632
What I found that was the closest in a XFI:
XFI Lobe--Duration @ .006/268 .050/218 .200/143 Lift/.605
What the tech found for me was:
Xtreme Energy--Duration @ .006/ 269 .050/ 220 .200/145 Lift/.597
It appears as if it's 1 degree quicker to .200 than the LSK lobe, too, with a little less lift. So, just because it isn't listed doesn't mean that they don't have it. Give them a call, you might be surprised. (I know I was!!)

I'd like to see the dyno sheet on your new cam when you get it installed.

Yeah, I was kind of shocked when he came up with those number, too. I just recieved my Dart 205's Saturday and the springs that they come with are just about maxed out using a LSK lobe. I had to back it down a notch to where I felt comfortable using those springs with these lifts.

Dyno numbers won't be available until late July. I won't be installing the cam until then (the wife is going to Florida for four weeks to visit her family on June 30th) Then I need to get it tuned, so maybe mid to late July. I'll be running the above mentioned lobe on the intake and a XFI lobe with 274 seat to seat, 224@.050, 149@.200, and .609 lift on the exhaust.

*EDIT* You know, the more I think about it, I think I'll give them a call again tomorrow and see what they offer for an exhaust lobe to match the intake I was told about today. My curiousity is getting the best of me. I'll post back tomorrow if I find anything out.
If anybody is interested, the lobe number he gave me was 3761R. I looked all over the place for it and couldn't find it, maybe someone else will have better luck.

That's correct, a 220/224. It's not purchased, yet. I'm still studying my options and this is what I've (almost) got it narrowed to.
