Default LS2 Timing Chain question...

I'm in the middle of a H/C swap and will be installing a LS2 timing chain and gears sometime tomorrow. Got to looking at the cam gear for the set today and noticed that there isn't a timing "dot" on the gear like the LS1 factory gears have. I did notice that there is a "U" shaped marking on the gear however.

So is this "U" shaped marking the LS2 version of the "dot" found on LS1 cam gears? The crank gear has a dot, but the only marking I found on the cam gear was this "U" shape.

Any suggestions/input?

Thanks.

i take it the ls2 chain is stronder then the ls1 chain.

i guess it would make sence to swap the ls2 chain while doing a cam swap right?

just need the ls2 chain and ls2 cam gear?

Do you need to buy the timing set or just the timing chain? Does the set come with the chain?

The side links are thicker, it's quite a bit stronger than the LS1 chain. When you get the LS1 chain out, you'll laugh.
