Default loose rockers?

So the other day i was hot roddin the car around when sitting at a stop light i noticed it was running like **** and makin a noise like somthin in the valvetrain was broke. So i pulled the driver side valve cover today and a couple of the rockers are sitting a little crooked. The tip of the rocker isnt centered perfectly over the valve spring. And i can kinda wiggle some of the rockers side to side a little tiny bit. Should i loosen them all and align them and retorque them to 22 ft lbs??? im goin to pull the passenger side and check it out also. thanks.

You may be losing the needle bearings if they are as loose as you describe. You might want to pull one of the loose ones and examine it very carefully for missing needles. Also, drop your oil and see if you find any. There is a thread on this going on right now.

You shoudl not have to straighten them. The rocker trays will automatically align them as you torque the rockers down.

Is it ok to turn the engine over (like try to start the car) With the coils all pulled off and valve covers pulled off to see if anything looks out of whack or see where the noise is coming from??

If your gonna go that far, pull the spark plugs, and disconnect the fuel pump fuse.
