the balancer bolt turns everytime i turn the bolt on the pulley puller ... am i doing something wrong ?

If you have the balancer bolt loose, the puller on and the puller bolt is turning the balancer bolt, put a second open end wrench on the balancer bolt to hold it. The balancer bolt should only be a couple of turns when you start, back it out as the balancer comes off.
