You should also check the valve to make sure its OK. You overrev the motor and float some valves?

Yeeep, had this happen to me. That notch in the piston isn't a HUGE deal but it makes that area more prone to being a hot spot. I would replace it if possible. It's kind of hard to tell from the small pics. As for the other parts, the valve is most likely bent, so it should obviously be replaced. However, I would also check to make sure that the seat wasn't damaged either, especially while you already have the heads off. Additionally, the pushrod may have been bent. So, just make a thorough check of the easy things like pushrod/valves/obvious things, and have the heads checked before you put it back together.

In my case things were a lot worse and the valve actually broke off into the engine and FUBAR'ed it. Here's a couple pics to make you feel better

.
Yikes ... this is similar to what happened to me. Didn't over-rev or anything, I was pulling up to a light and BOOM. Ended up getting a 402 ... but it would be cheaper just to replace the piston.

You DO NOT have to replace that piston. I broke a timing chain and smacked 10 valves. Ended up going with new Tsp heads. The bottom end other than having a couple of "flycuts" like yours (no cracks) and a few knicks on others is fine. It recently made 435rwhp on the dyno and I have about 4000 miles since the incident. I did sand the edges off the marks on my pistons. You'll be fine. My timing chain busted at 6000 rpms, I dont think you can have P/V contact any harder than that. Im going to spray the combo soon, I guess I'll see how it holds up. Im not worried....people cut deeper flys than I have in my pistons.

I guess I will sand the edges, and do a die check on the piston head to see if there are any cracks. Hopefully I will have no cracks.

Articz28 that looks awfull, I am sorry to see that. Hopefully I dontend up like that afer I put the motor back together ad run it

It sucked then, but gave birth to the 408. All good beginnings have to come from some other's end.

1-Dissasemble the heads and check valve/guide etc..
2- Refreshen the heads with new springs.
2- Flycut all your pistons (since you already have a pretty )
4- Now you can get a slightly bigger cam
