Want to stop oil from going in the intake? Get rid of the PCV completely, that is the only way. I put an AMW can on mine, and it does catch alot of oil, and soem still gets in the intake.

Remove the hose on top of the TB and the passenger valve cover, cap both places. Remove the hose from the intake, cap intake. REmove the hoses on the passengers side, connect the 2 valve covers together in the back with a piece of hose, like the factory OCV system does, this way each side has equeal pressure, and get a metco breather cap for the oil fill. Oil in the intake problem solved 100%

Great thread. I am having problems with excessive oil consumption also. I have a 98 LS1 with LS6 heads and intake. First thing I noticed was loss of oil in a very short time. Pulled the plugs this morning - worst are 1,3,5 - definitely fouled with oil. Maybe this makes sense in that the PCV opening on the intake looks right at them. Then I looked at the exit of the PCV valve - liquid oil present. I did seal the rocker bolts when I assembled the valve train and EVERY plug has oil on the threads up to the seal surface. There are no valve cover or oil leaks of any kind.

I plan on doing both the LS6 valley cover and a catch can. I am having trouble finding a source for the catch can. Anyone have suggestions as to a good vendor?

Thanks.

AMW, on the right. But, save this thread, as I will most likly be ditching mine completely with my new motor, and will be selling mine with teh bracket to bolt it to the passenger side head.... I dunno what they are going for new, but depending on that will decide what I want for it when I'm ready to part with it.

Thanks. Checked out AMW, they want $160 but it's not available until Nov.. Looked at Jegs, they have something (part #555-5200) for around $75 but it's rather large (13" long 3"diameter) with a breather on top. I'm not sure of the internals and exactly how function compares with the AMW.

AMW wants $160 now for theirs?!? Wow. In that case, I'd gut the whole thing off and be done with it, the fancy breather fill cap is like 50 bucks, the rest of what you need to remove it is probably less then 10 bucks at autozone.
