Default From LS1 to LS6?

ok, here it is, i heard there was a kit that can take my LS1 to an LS6...is it true....?

Here are my questions:

How much?

What does it contain?

Where do i get it?

What should i do to prepare the car for it?

How long would this take?

Default LS1 to LS6?

Since a Z06 would dyno at about 340-350 RWHP why would a this kit give you more. The Z06 also has better exhaust beside everything else.

Why not get a better cam/springs (TR224/918's) and add a set of 243 heads (Z06 castings) and the LS6 intake.

If your working on a 2001 or newer LS1 you already have the LS6 intake.

Add a set of headers and a UD pulley and you'll be alot closer to 385 RWHP.

I agree with RGKSR. Your money is far better spent on some other heads+cam package that will far out perform the ls6 conversion. heads and cam will get you anywhere from 350 to 450 RWHP depending on how agressive you want to go.

Dart 205s and 228r cam will kill an LS6 conversion all day long. For the money, I would go a completely different route.

I think the point to the conversion is that for a cheaper price than your above listed mods, you can have a reliable daily driver with minimal stress on internals. Although I too have gone a different direction than the LS6 idea.

For less money you could go with:

$1125 Patriot LS6 CNC ported heads w/ stock valves and gold dual springs.
$400 224 or 228 ish cam
$100 hardened pushrods
$150 gaskets and seals
$400 LS6 intake (if you dont have an 01+ car)

This setup should be good for 425ish to the rear wheels with teh correct supporting boltons. Needless to day it will walk all over the ls6 conversion.

Zo6 Corvettes with full bolt-ons max out around 390 rwhp with stock LS6 Heads and cam.

Patriot has come a long long way since the early problems. Their heads are proven performers and customer service is second to none. It would be foolish to count patriot out when looking for a budget head. However PRC and Livernois both have comparible heads at similar pricing.
