Default Low Oil Presure?

So my oil presure at idel is 20-25 and CREEPS up to 40 under heavey acceleration. Is this too low? I do have some mad lifter tap, and i think this is why. Spark plugs and wires were all good. Rockers were tight (24 FTLBS) hardened rods. ECT ECT so im thinking i may have pinched the O ring??? Can i just remove the pan and check this out or am i destined to remove the front of the motor again?

You say remove the front of the motor again. Did the low oil pressure begin after you removed and replaced the front cover? What did you do to the engine when you did the work you are making reference to?

You can remove the motor with the pan in the car... If you are running ove 4k rpms and your oil pressure is 40, you are barely getting enogh.. You need 10psi per 1k rpms.

I did not mean remove the motor. I ment the front of the motor. In my C5 i have to remove the stering rack, sway bar, powerstering, fans radiator, pully, and timing cover to get to the pick up tube.....unless i can just remove the oil pan and still be abel to get to it.
