Do the gears headers and tune, and instead of the cam put the bottle to it and destroy that ZO6. You'll get stock drivability when you want it and when you turn the spray on it will become a monster. If you decide to go this route make sure you atleast change your pushrods for hardened ones and if spraying 100 shot or above upgrade your fuel pump.

Stock z06 corvettes are capable of low 12s and in a few rare cases (i.e. outstanding drivers) high 11s on the stock Eagle F1's !!!

Happy Hunting.

Cam selection isn't juts a HP game... i thought that when i went looking for a cam.. but there is so much to think about before buying a cam... if you want a cam that will beat a z06 you can just go with a Trex... and call it good. you wont' just beat z06's but destroy them... then again.. if you daily drive the trex might not be for you...

you could get away with bolt ons and a z06 cam..

I agree you really want need that much of a big cam to over power the Z06 LS6, I put three car lenght lead on one with my fbody and didn't need the spray, but If i came across the new Z06 it would probably rip me a new one with the spray LOL...

the magic stick cams are HUGE. very aggressive cams that will be very tempermental compared to stock or the ls6 cam. Usually the more power the cam produces, the less streetable its gonna be.

you don't need a cam to outrun a stock c5 z06. just do bolt-ons + tune and you'll be there, no problem. if you do that and still are having trouble, these cars are easy to strip weight from..

A set of ET heads would make a great choice.

Stock Z is about 350 to the wheels. Plus they have a couple hundred pounds weight advantage. And the M12 gearing is equivalent to 3.90 gears. I think you'll need more than bolt ons to beat a Z.

That said, I would agree that a 224 cam should do it.

Good Luck

I agree here. You might be able to do it with weight reduction, and with some exotic boltons and gears.

Anything can happen on the street. The driver means more than anything else. Equal drivers I think you'll have to have more than bolt ons in a full weight car to beat a Z. Get a 224+ cam and you'll be set to go, just make sure you can pilot that thing

don't they trap in the 115-117 range ?if so i would definitely cam it no less than 228 + and all the usual mods to be able to trap in the 118 + range.
