Default Milling stock LS1 heads

I figured I would raise the compression a bit for the cam to squeeze some more power out. Here is what I have:

Stock rotating assembly (new oil pump and LS2 timing chain though)
Frutal F11 228/230 .577/.595" ona 114 LSA
Comp 918's
Morel Lifters
Hardened pushrods (don't know what length yet)
1 7/8 Kooks race headers with dual 3" exhaust and X-pipe
SVO 30" injectors
Ported TB
Z06 MAF
Cometic .040" gaskets

With everything I have listed I think milling the heads to get ~11:1 CR would be alright. Any thoughts? How much would I need to take off of a stock 99 LS1 set of heads to get the compression to 11:1 with the .040" Cometic gaskets? I was thinking around .020" because I think the Cometic's take the CR to around 10.5:1. Will there be any issues with intake alignment, piston to valve, etc. etc.? Thanks in advance.

Scott

Each .006 removed is worth 1cc in the head. With the .040 you would need a 63cc head which is ~.022 milled. You will definately want to check your p2v clearnace when you put it back together.

Yeah, definately check P to V. If youve got adequate clearance when you mock it up, then have the heads decked. Infact, you may be able to go even higher compression.

Not to hijack, but what's the limit for milling stock heads before intake alignment issues become a problem?

.050 seems to be the rule of thumb.

Does anyone "think" I will have piston to valve clearance issues if I mill the stock heads ~.025", use the .040" gaskets, and the cam I listed in my first post? Just a guess if I'll have problems... I will be checking though.
