may have bent a pushrod?
i was gettin on it pretty good the other day and missed my 2-3 shift. i was shiftin at 6k so i new i went straight past the rev limiter. when i checked my max rpm on the shift lighe, it read 6420....is there a chance i bent a rod?

It doesn't hurt to check. You can have bent pushrods and no noises and only a moderate loss in power, mainly in the upper rpm's. I've suspected my car may have a bent pushrod or 2, and am using it as an excuse to pull them out and throw in some LS6 springs I got for cheap. I may or may not need to do anything, but on a 100k motor, I just might unleash a little more upper rpm power with the LS6's if the stock ones are tired. Plus it's a cheap way to freshen up the valvetrain (and more insurance against bending pushrods) when I won't be tearing into the motor anytime soon.

yeah I would just check, usually you can tell by driving it or using a temp gun on the header flanges to see if you have a cold cyl. Doesnt take much time to pull them and see. At that RMP it is possible but hey maybe nothing happened at all
