Piston rod combo?
I'm using Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods (or stock rod w/ARP bolts depends on price). Due to having a hookup on the pricing I'll probably stay with those brands. With the stock rods I'd run the K366A05 piston made for a .945" pin and 6.098" stock rod. Only problem is the piston is heavy 450g + 125g for the pin. Still debating if I can get by with the stock rods as free is a good price
. I'm sure I can, but just want something better. If I run the Eagle rods (CRS6125B3D) I'll run the Wiseco K398A07 3.905 piston made for a .927" pin and 6.125" rod length. These pistons are lighter by 45g each total ( 425g +105g pin) than the stock rod length piston above, but the rod is a little heavier than a stock rod. I see all the talk of big end rod slop with the eagles and having the offset and don't know if it's a big issue or not. After looking at the Eagle site one more time it seems they now offer a on center rod in the same size as above (CRS6125O3D). I'd think it would be a better choice, but will cost a little more due to the volume the offset rod sells.
Any thoughts
