No, that's not how it goes. You start with your ADVERTISED duration at .006". Via the other thread, your advetised .006" is 290. then do the calculations from there.

No, you would just insert 2. Putting a negative will give you a "dome" reading.

OK, DCR is 8.1 with .052 gaskets, if I go with .040 it goes up to 8.4. 70 IVC, 63cc AFR 205 heads.

Are all cometic LS1 gaskets 4.130 bore size (other then the 3.910), seems big for a 4.030 bore.

Cometics come in a variaty of sizes. 3.910 through 4.200. Youcan get just about any size you want.

Are 4.130 gaskets a standard size for them? I am assuming thats what you used
to calculate ls1408's compression. I did and came out w/12.6:1 also. Are there advantages to running a different gasket bore size? I am ordering a set of ET heads and because they come in almost any cc I figure I can hit 11.7:1 one way

4.130 is a big bore size. I used a calc. of 4.040" on his motor because he has a 4.030" bore. Most people usaully get .010-.030 bigger than their bore for their gasket. Either way it won't change compression much. Changing th ethickness however, is a diffrent story.
