I went with the TR 224 on 114 because of emissions reasons. After I get my emissions test, I found out that they don't do the tailpipe test here anymore so I don't have to worry about the duration of my cam for emissions. That was the main reason I went with my TR224. I've been very happy with it, it's a GREAT street cam, but of course I want more. I really like the deep sound a cam gives our motors, but will probably like something with a tighter LSA and more duration. I'm now thinking of something around 228ish with high lift and 111ish LSA FWIW.

You always wish you would have gone bigger if you get your cam in and it drives remotely tame, and you always wish you would have gone smaller if you get your cam in and it drives like a dog. The main thing is not to lie to yourself about your goals and don't sacrifice things like driveability if you honestly don't think you can deal with it. Putting a big cam in just for the lope at the sacrifice of driveability on a daily driver may be ok with many people, but you really have to try not to lie to yourself if you know you will get severely annoyed with it if you drive in a lot of traffic for example. Bigger is not always better. Memorize that and repeat it daily. A lot of people make great power, not only peak but under the curve, with cams that the mass would consider "small". Bottom line, you gotta figure your top goals and pick a cam specific to your application, and not just one that you get b/c you've heard the most about it.

This guy makes a good point. With that said my car is a gutted "racecar" that only see's the street to race which is why I am kicking myself for not going bigger. At the time my car was a DD and the TR224 was perfect.

228/230 112 here and i think its perfect for me,still on the brink of running completely smooth and has a nice powerband that starts kicking at 3k and really pulls hard over 4500,and i dont want to go any bigger.

G5x3 here. Absolutly love it. I used to run a TSP torquer in my old car and decided I wanted to go a bit bigger.

Don't go too small. Get something pretty beefy, as you will have cam remorse if you buy a cam for driveability reasons.

TSP 224/224 and I wish I would have went bigger the first time. I have the 228/230 cam ready to go in now and I'm already thinking of going with something else.

I think that most of the problem with peoples cam's is that they went on what everyone jumps on at that time. There is only going to be only one cam that will give you the best output at a given RPM for your car period. How many different cams do people have to see for the same RPM advertisement? Remeber it's all in the part combination ie high compression, FI, CI. There is plenty of good infomation on the fourm, but there is ten times as much bad info. People need to really do there homework before hitting the BUY IT now button. For me its worth the headach of learning something for two months than to spend my money and time on the same part twice. just my .02

For everyday street driving I like the 224/228 grind. I have seen a couple of guys in this forum go bigger but soon return back to this proven smaller cam.

221/221 .558/.558 on a 114 Here and loving it
At the time i bought my cam there was no tunning avalible yet.
plus i had stock manifolds an also had to deal with emisions
The car still put down 352 rwhp with very little issues & passed emisions.
Today with the same came with boltons and LT's the car drives like stock.
And runs quite well for such a baby cam.
Heads an larger lager cam is comming soon though

I went with the TR224 114lsa over four years ago, and back them it was considered a fairly large cam Today its considered a small to baby cam, but it make great TQ down low, drives almost like stock, and handles my high reving road coarse track days with ease. So all in all, I am still satisfied with my selection. If I need to go bigger, it will be in cubes, not the cam.

That is the cam I would suggest to any and everyone. Its like the perfect all around cam. If you surround it with a good team under the hood, you will be a silent killer! And for anyone on here with a cam without headers, heads, or a good tune you are not really seeing what your cam can do! It may be cheaper to just buy a new cam... but good heads, headers, and an intake manifold are worth it is you have the extra money.

It is going in a LS2 (364) And it is a M6... So it shouldn't be too bad
