my car made 396 rwhp with my mods with the stock ws6 catback, stock pulley, and stock paper filter in 92 degrees and 85% humidity, pretty much the worst conditions possible.....Now that i ahve the gmmg and slp pulley on the normal day it should do 420rwhp without a problem.

I wish I would have gone slightly bigger with a traditional split. One of these TSP cams is what I want but won't be getting. 231/237, .598"/.595" - 233/239, .595"/.603"

Seriously!! I went 230/224. It was tuned in ~5 minutes, way too easy. Would have gone larger if I knew it was going to drive so nice.

My only regret is they keep coming out with bigger better cams

I SWEAR Texas Speed is out to get my bank account NOW I gotta get the MS4

FYI for you guys: I live in South Florida and regularly deal with 10 mph stop and go traffic on the highways (not so much go but MORE stop). Believe me . . . even if you guys are getting tuned by people that say they "know how to tune" and your cars are STILL having problems with dying/stumbling/erratic idle . . . find a new tuner

My MS3 gives me ZERO problems with a 900 rpm idle. I tune it down to 800 rpm's once in a while when I wanna here a good lope

Still haven't put in a cam, but a buddy of mine got a custom grind that helped him trap 111-112 (222/226) here in Albuquerque. Density altitude is REALLY high. FWIW there are guys running MS3 cams only hitting 109 in similar weather.

I was finally able to get the cam card for it and will be installing it once I'm done with the suspension. If I do decide to go bigger I will probably run an X3 or X4 just because they are proven performers.

Made 402rwhp/389rwtq SAE. Car had stock 853s, no EWP or u/d pulley and through a 12 bolt and steel driveshaft. I also think I had a lifter(s) on the way out which is one reason I just pulled my engine after i grenaded my clutch on spray. I'll redyno in the next few weeks with 243s, new lifters, 42lb injectors and the rest of the bolt ons.

The V3 is a pretty high duration cam with even higher lift with a nice lope but drives like stock through TTP's tuning, I love this cam.

I read the same thing. But when I talk to ppl it just the opposit. SHould have gone with better heads and a smaller cam for overall better compatibilty.

PPL like and want to talk about their "BIG numbers", but really want usable power UNDER THE curve.

My first cam was a f10. 228/228 .558 <<i think)114 put down 378/372 with full boltons with the exception of a pulley. It pulled nicely, but the tune wasnt so great. Not many people had a 228 cam at that time. it was either 224s or 230+ I decided I needed something bigger to keep up with the crowd here in SD so I went with the f13 112. 396/366 is what it put down with mods in sig. this is also through the stock muffler. I miss the low end power from the f10, but im gonna get that back with my new motor more cubes!

Here's another "should have went bigger." I run a 232/240 112 in city traffic with no problems and you can't beat the sound of a larger cam like this. Don't be afraid, you don't give up too much in drivability, it all depends how you will drive it. Although I don't have any problems, if your car is a daily driver and you want to play it safe, stick with a 224-228 range cam because most people have good luck with cam's in this range. Find something you think you might like and stick with it. You will always wish you did or could do something else or go bigger. So it's best to just do some research and buy from someone with good tech support. But remember it's all in the tune and the proper stall match-up.
Good Luck

Heh, when I got my T1 (.558 221) back in '01, it WAS one of the bigger cams out there. And the car was my DD from April through October and saw 12k miles a year. Now it gets 3k miles per year and sees only good weather. I'm ready to move to something at least 230 and around .600" lift. But I can't complain about the T1, it makes great power, solid torque curve, easy on valve springs, no driveability issues, and even has a nice lope that makes it sound bigger than it really is

That Tony Whatley can pick a good cam

I currently have a stock motor with a lid, plugs stock exhaust and a slipping A4 running a ls1 hot cam and went 13.02@112 mph with a 2.2 60ft...and the car just has a basline tune, I'm still deciding on what cam to run as of now I'm swithcing to a turbo350 ect.
I like read threads like this as it helps to see what people think of certain camshafts, as for me the hot cam runs great and isnt really noticable unless you listen for it. Bigger is on the way!
