Default ah!!!!!!oil pressure!

I have a 2000 transam. At a cold start it has around 40lbs of oil pressure and when it comes up to operating temperatures...its around 30. anybody else with this kinda of oil pressure.

ummm nope.. i thought 40 was the avg temp . anything under was bad ??

Mine at cold start is around 55-60 lbs .. and varies from 40-60..

Yeah it's common, rule of thumb, 10 psi per 1000 rpm. So technically, you could have 10 psi at idle and be "ok" I wouldn't sweat it. Wait till a cam change and put a ported pump on, problem solved. And if it's an Auto, it may be lower than a 6 speed, just something I noticed between my two cars.

mine runs about 29 to 30, in the florida heat when the car is hot at idle, about 50 when cruising

mines about the same..its the wot u want to worry about if it jumps up there then u are perfect
