Read the stickies and search.

We'll start from the begining: What are your current mods?

Check the stickies in the new enthusiasts, internal engine and external engine sections.

there have been so many posts about the MS4 its a big bad cam, and have to have alot of supporting mods if you want it for a daily driver.

If you search it out you will find a lot of information just off of this site alone.

oh i see you have an A4 also. then you have a long way to go if you want a safe car. first a stall of 4k or higher. 3.73+ in gears. headers, and one helluva tune witch is $500 and up. your in the same boat as me as i just decided on the T-Rex cam, so i have a long way to go. take your time in just diving in for a big cam just because you hear good things about it. good luck welcome to the forum.

i heard with the t-rex and an A4 you shouldnt drive it at ALL untill the tune is complete. and it might be the same with this bad boy. i might be wrong.

Not necessarily. You can get away with it, but it will be a dog with no power. You just don't want to be running around town really lean and not have anyway to control it.

TORQUE CONVERTER.

Get at least a 3000 rpm stall speed. I recommend Yank or Vigilante, and at least a 3500 RPM stall speed. If you want to run a cam the size of the MS4 get a 4,000 stall speed, minimum.

Good compliments to a converter are a Tans Go shift kit, trans temperature gauge, transmisison cooler (24k gvwr), drag radials (Nitto NT 555-R is great for the street) and subframe connectors. You may also need some tuning to make it drive correctly. (torque management and shfit points)

After you get the converter you can worry about the cam.

No, I would not buy a converter this weekend. I would read/search the forums for info on cams to decide which size cam you want at first. They all perform differently and require bigger or smaller stalls. Once you decide what you want out of a cam and pick a cam to match those goals, do your supporting mods. All the bolt ons, 3.73 gears, 3500+ stall, sticky tires, supporting valvetrain mods and a tune! I would do a lot of reading around before buying up parts, it gets expensive vwery quickly.
