Default Help with pushrod length..preload

I have an adjustable pushrod, and I fully understand how to check the length.
Except the adjustable pushrod just spins....regardless of length.

Lunati lifters
Heads milled .020"
Gaskets are .045" compressed.
Cam is TSP's Giant cam
Stock rockers
TSP LQ9 402

Couple questions...
1. Pushrods should never spin correct?? Warm, cold, oiled, whatever. At least when the rockers are torqued down.
2. Any way to estimate pushrod length without actually measuring?? I need somewhere to start since this damn adjustable just spins. A calculator maybe??
3. Right now, my 7.300" pushrods spin....I figure they are not properly preloading my lifters. What negative affects could be caused?? Slight lose of power?? Not seeing top end lift?? Lose of torque?

Thanks in advance.

Please help.
I would rather do it right than guess again.

I estimate mine by what has been milled lengths and such set my checker and take a pattern on top of the valve stem how the rockers touch and the patern they leave some people use paint I use gear marking compound!Ones I've seen and done if its too short the pattern will be high toward the intake and to much will start making it get low I try and get my length and pattern in the middle of the top of the valve cetered!Just takes a little time thats how I do it!Start out at stock length and work your way down!7.300 seams short to me!

They are short, but not by much. Heads have been milled .020" and the lifters require much less preload than stockers. Lunati/Morel lifters require .020-.030 preload and the stockers like much more. Plus the thinner gasket.
That is a decent idea. I think I just need more time.

I probably need a 7.335 or so I would guess.
