Default Cam swap tip

Dont use pen magnets, do the dowel route.

I learned the hard way and spent $200 and a extra day pulling the heads

lucky for you............ when i did it, 2 of the stupid metal clips on the pen magnets broke off, dropping two lifters and the broken peices into my engine, resulting in lifting up the motor and dropping the oil pan, trying to fish out the lifters and peices. this took a huge amount of time and avoidable bullshit......... USE THE DOWELS!!!!

This is worth repeating. Pen magnets suck, dowels are simple and the lifters should not be able to fall

Feel your pain, did my cam and dropped a lifter b/c of the pen magnets. Added lots of extra time to the project.
Did the dowels on a friends car when I did his cam and went smooth as butter.

ahh I see.

Well atleast you got some nice bolts on there now!

and the next time you drop a lifter you can re-use those bolts
