Alright after getting my camshaft through the first two bearings it wont go through the third, i'm not about ready to force it through either. Any idea why this is happening? I tried another camshaft and same thing happend. This is an LS6 block with Clevilte 77 bearings
If you can look down the center and see no obstructions you should make sure the cam is lubed up good and keep trying. I found that the last few cam swaps I did for friends hung a little and it was fixed by turning the cam with a little pressure and keeping it centered.
Wiggle it while turning and pushing. Back out a touch and try some more. You could be catch a lube/stick pocket where suction from fluid grabs it. Kinda hard to explain the force. But wiggle and push, but not real hard. If it is sticking you are still ok.

It also helps to have a looong handle to be able to leverage the cam from side to side and up and down as you're rotating it and pushing it in at the same time. The longer the tool the better. Lube helps too, but so does a certain amount of patience. I drilled a piece of flat stock and welded a 2' rod to it. Once the tool is bolted to the cam I hold the tool at both ends. With you hands that far apart you have better contol over the cam and you can make it move more precisely which is what you need to do to get the journals thru the bearings.
