Default GM LS1 Hot Cam Kit

On page 303 of the Summit Racing catalog for July-August 2006 on the bottom right hand corner of the screen, GM is offering a "Gen 3 Hot Cam Kit". The cam looks like it has good numbers but i wanted to know if anyone had any information or experience to share about it. I was thinking of combining it with 220/83 heads and being able to pump out a respectable amount of horsepower.

i would appreciate any and all comments as this would be my first major upgrade.

You just opened a can of negative feedback.

I have had good experiences with it. The hotcam fills a need depending on your goals. If your goals are for a dyno queen, then you are choosing the wrong cam.

yes it will. Only with a tune I believe.

I also believe that 230 plus cams have passed...with a very smog friendly tune.

That cam will net you around 360-370 RWHP in an M6 with all the boltons, it can make for a respectable well mannered car, but if your going up against other cammed LS1's, dont expect to win too much.
