Default Do I need dual springs?

I plan on picking up a Lingenfelter LS1 GT2-3 cam (207/220 573/.580 118cl)
and was wondering if dual springs like PRC's are overkill or are they necessary?
Here is a link to the cam:

Thanks guys !

You dont "need" them but for the minimal price difference it is nice insurance. Single springs have been known to break even when not pushed much...

Well, I noticed Lingenfelter sells the same cam as a kit with LS6 springs so apparently they feel single springs are sufficent....but I definitely understand what you are saying........

that cam wont be very hard on the springs. But i would go with some 918's just for some extra insurance. Dual springs wont be necessary.

No reason to get a dual spring unless the cam calls for it.

I run shimmed 918's on 244/248 .600 lift cam. IMO no.

You don't need them, but they are good for insurance purposes. In the slight instance that you do break a spring, you won't worry quite as bad about dropping a valve and completely toasting your motor.

LPE cam GT2-3 will run on 02+ LS6 springs.
Myself I would put 918's on it.

Duals are complete overkill and have too much seat pressure for that cam.
Over springing can have negative effect on lifters.
