Default New pushrods or lifters???

I went to race my friend today with a 2000 pewter transam...Anyway longstory short I guess I missed a gear or I accidently put it in 2nd and the engine redlined and my car shut off...I pulled over and started it and all you can hear when the car is running is clicking noises. I talked to a member on this site and he said its most likely bent or broken pushrods. What do you guys think it is??? If it is pushrods should I get stock ones or hardened ones. I plan on doing cams and heads/Lt's soon and I would like to know what a good set up would be. I want my cams to be legal here in california. What would be the best cam to go with heads etc.?

mechanical over-rev is bent pushrods most likely or you fudged a valve.
Best cam for legal use is under the 230 duration. 224/224 would be your best bet.

for one you only need one cam in your f-bod
second, this in the wrong forum for this post.... internal section
third, chromoly pushrods are likely used for large lift cams (but it's always good to upgrade)
fourth, being you need to pass smog in ca... a 224/224-114 or 112 or possibly 228/228 is the biggest you can go

So should I get hardened pushrods? Now that my car is not driveable I want to get all my parts together. Where can I buy this cam or should I get one custom made? What heads will go good with the cam? Sorry for all these questions, but now its really time to start buying my parts and modding

I would do hardened pushrods for any aftermarket cam.

That search mechanism is all F-ed up now. Doesn't look like they are going to fix it either

i would call tsp and get the cam package with the 224/224 .581 on a 114,that has passsed emissions out there and puts down some decent numbers.

hardened pushrods, valve springs, LS6 oil pump, LS2 timing chain,gaskets, depending on how many miles are on you car you also might want to consider lifters.

well I might have to get new lifters. I don't know EXACTLY what's wrong with my car yet. Is there any write ups on how to check or change your pushrods??? If I bought a book for my car at Kragens will it explain how to put in a cam??
