Great times John!!! Very impressive. Keep it up. Makes me want to get a A4 just so I can hit 10's too. My 1.7 60's just don't cut it with a 3650 raceweight.

Great numbers.

Bill
I got the heads from Total Engine Airflow (TEA). Talk with Brian Tooley or Mike.

The springs are dual springs with Ti retainers; the valves are 2.04 on the intake and 1.575 on the exhaust.

You can buy a device such as http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku that will do it for you at the track.

I do not know how much RWHP the setup is putting down. I do know that with my old setup I would run even with a buddy of mine that had almost the exact setup and put down ~425 RWHP through a locked 4L60E.
With the above as a ruler I would guess that the current setup is putting down some where between 425 and 450 RWHP with the converter locked

Louis – I have not heard or seen you post in a long time. How are you? Also thanks for a great cam!

Hennytime – You are right. I should have said “a baby cam by today’s standards”

exSSer – My heads are out of the box Trick Flow heads milled to 61cc chambers. You are going to love the heads!

John
hey we re-dynod the car again with the rings seated a little more and it did 438/393 through a locked 4000stall converter 20lb driveshaft and a 12 bolt so your car im sure is deffinatly making good power. i have to say the one thing you have over me by far is the damn weight of the car mine weighs 3460 without driver so its kinda heavy
im hoping to pull off 11.1-11.2 or a 7.1-7.2 in the 1/8 we went to the track the other night and the car went 7.36 but it woulnt shift into third it kept banging the limiter, but we got that fixed now and the tires where rubbing at the track so i have to roll the fenders this week before i go back, that will kill the mph and than we will see what she does

i have the trick flow heads for anyone that doesnt know and it did 410rwhp unlocked and i sprayed mine and on a 200shot it did 565 unlocked and 470torque spinning bfg drag radial 315's on the dyno. the converter flashed to 6k on the dyno and the pull only lasted 1.5 seconds the reason it seems the torque is down alot and a little power is because it flashed to 6k and it already flahsed above the peak numbers but on the street it should fall right around 5300 and do more than that so im happy with it

A Comp shelf 216/220 cam with these heads made 515 HP at the crank, a 232/236 made 535 HP, so if there is a 20 HP spread from tiny cam to big cam, how much more power is he going to make? and is the gain in peak power going to cost area under the curve?......yes.

I can't count how many customers I have had that had a good, drivable, killer combinations and then killed it with a huge cam.

Congrats on the killer numbers John, I knew if anyone could do it you could.

Brian,

what was the compression ratio, quench height, and fuel in your test?

Thanks,

David

The head was at 64cc, the head gasket was stock MLS and the fuel was pump 92. So you can figure compression from that and the quench was probably .046" (.054"-.008") Not near as high of compression as a lot of people are trying to run, with 59cc chamber and .040" Cometic gasket, but then again I bet John Norris's rod bearings stay in the engine that way

You should go back and look at the MPH on each run and see if you were blowing through the convertor, it sounds like you were, and even if you weren't, 6000 flash is no good. Is it a purple puck by chance?

In my car I blew through the Super Yank 24 MPH, so you need a very good torque convertor.

Mine is similar and its mellow. Drives good on a stock tune and gets the same mileage as stock. It is a lil soggy below 2500rpms though.
