Default Another Cam Selection Thread

Hey guys,

I've decided to go the route of putting a cam in my car. My current mod's are a lid, ls6 intake, 1.8 gold roller rockers, bigger valve springs (this was all done by the previous owner because he was going to put a cam in the car), exhaust cut out, 100hp dry shot, and 4.10's are going in soon. I do daily drive the car. I've been doing alot of research, yet I can't quite figure out which cam to go with. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Texas Speed Ms3 would make a good choice since you like the bottle.

Or if you want something smaller, try the w1 cam.

I love the bottle. I've read some great reviews on the ms3, but what do you think about the ms4?

Not sure what to think on it yet. Just bought one for my car, not putting it in until next week though. I bet it's gonna be a good one, but it's hard to say since it just came out and all. I'm curious myself if it's gonna be as good as the Ms3 is on spray.

yeah, since the ms3 has "fast ramp rates", will that have any effect on my 1.8 rockers?

well on thunder racings website, for basically all of their cam's, right under the title of them, they say not to use 1.8 rockers because of fast ramp rates.

You wouldn't be able to do an Ms3 with those springs anyways. Might want to look into the w1 cam, much easier on the ramp and you can use those springs no problem. The specs on it are 227/232 .578/.589 116lsa

You bet. The 918's are rated up to a .600 lift and some say you can go even larger (though I wouldn't personally recommend it). I still don't know about those rockers though, and what the limits are with them.

You do NOT want to use those rockers with any cam that your gonna be interested in getting. Go with the stock 1.7 ratio.
