Anyone use Comp XE grind lobes anymore?

Or is the general concensus that it's not worth the time when they make the XE-R or LSK? I wouldn't mind running HPDE's and taking long trips with my car and I figure the XE would be a little easier on the valvetrain. The old cam in my ZO6 is a XE and it made 445whp so they can't be all that bad. Can you run the XE-R grind for high miles as long as the valvetrain is up to speck(correct spring seat pressure, lifter preload, etc).
