What's your setup? Lifters, rockers, etc.

It's a washer from somewhere. Perhaps a bolt from the windage tray is sitting at the bottom of your oil pan and thats the washer that has been to hell and back.
The windage tray nuts are pretty big on my ARP studs, way bigger than that washer looks in the picture.

it could be a lock that keeps the needle bearings in the rocker arms. my #4 and #8(was only cracked) rocker arms lost that c clip or lock looking thing 2 weeks ago and i had some needle bearings on my drain plug. check the sides of your rockers at the pivot point....

I’ve heard of that happening to others before.
Are there any parts in there that look like the one in the pictures?

BTW: I’ve had many oil changes since the motor was built.
Can’t remember the exact number right now (gotta look at the records), but something like 5-10.

I think you will have little needle bearings if thats the case.

BTW Getting all your rocker arms off and checking them is really easy to do, it should only take you a hour or two if your not experienced with such things, you will need a 8mm socket, extender 10mm socket.

do the arp rod bolts have washers on them for the lsx engines cause i think they do for old 350's not sure tho, but it looks small enough to be off of a rod bolt or from one of the rockers like others were saying

Apparently you have never changed a valve spring.
IT's a new zero degree lock, haven't you heard?

Same little washer half broken on my drain plug yesterday when I changed my oil!!! I don't know where it comes from but it looks like a tempered washer (It's blue and craked like it has been heat treated). By the way, we don't have the same rocker arms and lifters so I don't think it comes from there (Crane gold rockers + stock lifters)

Please let me know if you find something. Same thing for me.

I don't think it's dangerous. At least, it's out of the engine right now

STOP DRIVING YOUR CAR RIGHT NOW!!. It comes from the timing chain. I broke my timing chain at the track today and found that this little half washer came from a chain link from my double rollmaster!!! The car cut off at 6600 rpm like the ignition was turned off!! I will have to replace the chain and a few bent valves!!!. Maybe it's time to replace my 241 casting with AFR 225

Do you have heat treated rollmaster?

I don't know why it broke. Maybe a company defect? It sucks

Dosnt that piece look a little bit too big to be part of the timing chain? But better safe than sorry, might as well check it out.

What type of Rollmaster double roller did your car have installed (Torrington bearing or not) and how many miles were on it? I've got one on my car (non-Torrington bearing) and am curious if I have to watch out for this.

I had this exact thing happen to me last summer on my stock 99 SS, I had a shop lock at them and they were completely rebuilding an LS1 at the time so they had parts to compare it to. We decided that it was part of the seat for the valve covers. So nothing important. We looked and sure enough thats what it was. Do you have stock valve covers, if so this might be your problem. But those pieces look identical to what came out on my plug!
