Default Heads came apart!!!

Ok I have a set of LS6 CNC heads and one of the rocker mounts ripped right off the head. The intake rocker was still torqued on the piece of the head that came off. What would cause this? Im thinking a weak runner wall but dont know, I was told that it was a pushrod problem or a lifter problem. What do you guys think? Have any of you had this problem?

Not to uncommon with the GM CNC ported head....(Lou at LG uses all his broken ones for wheel chocks....LOL). The roof being ported so thin is usually what causes this to occur.

Which head was it??

They are a set of PRC but im trying to have them exchanged for a set of your 225's. Is this a CNC problem? This is really the second of set heads, the first ones leaked water from the bottom of the runners.

I think he meant the second set is PRC. The first one was (as stated in the sig) Patriot heads. Either way....Two sets, two vendors...seems like there's something wrong with your setup that is not heads related....unless you just have terrible luck.

We need more info !

Get in touch with TSP, they will sort you out. Looks like the walls were just too thin.

Yeah, walls were pretty thin, and you may have had a casting flaw that just let go. Call the vendor and see what theyll do to make it right.

Alright fellas just got of the phone with the man, and I have said somethings in fustration that was not right. I just wanted to let EVERYONE know that TSP is making this all right. These guys have been helpfull in everyway, but not everyone sees the light all the time. After the fustration not with just heads but the whole car was vented, now I have to try to pull my own foot out of my....well you know. But on a better note their products (cam, heads, true duals) have not only blew away the others, but has also been the best comb I have had on the car yet. Lets all think things threw before we start running our mouths.

Beyond that, I can see how thin the metal is between the rocker stand and the port. Yikes! I'm not surprised it let go.

Their fine products and service are no secret on these boards. No worries. Good luck getting it back together.

We would bet that this is the first time TSP has had this happen to an OEM cylinder head. The 243 and 035 castings we currently machine have never had this issue. Our new Predator castings will have this area reinforced. Just as a quick update, our first batch of Predator castings is currently in heat treating.

The rocker studs are strong, the aluminum stands aren't.
