Yes, You can change the rod bolts while in car. Best are Katech direct replacements.
But I recommend a ported oil pump with that and a LS2 chain.
The 98 block has poorer oil flow capability block and is prawn to rod bearing failure at high rpms.

Im only going to turn my MS4 to 6500 but im only getting the doubleroller timing chain, and the ported oil pump and all new valvetrain so i hope that the stock bottom end can handle the 6500 which im sure it can.

why wouldn't it, when my stock stuff turned 6500 stock.

and yea, i guess it was late and I misread the posts, and thought they were saying they were only shifting at 6300
