Is is possible to put the cam from an LS1 into an LS2?

Thinkin of getttin a 6.0L iron block and wanna know if I can put my TReX in there.

ls2s are iron, but yes, they are 6.0 liter blocks. As for an iron block, yes you can use the cam. I thought the ls2 cams have something on them that ls1s dont..

You can put a LS1 cam in a LS2 block. You might have to use a LS2 cam sprocket and the LS2 font cover to get the timing right if there is no place for the cam position sensor on the back of the LS2 blocks.

The LS1 cam sensor is at the rear of the block, the LS2 cam sensor is at the front. Sounds like a problem to me.

As Chad said, you would have to use the LS2 cam sprocket, in order for the CMP to work, maybe it's not such a problem after all.
