Default ARP Head bolts or Studs

Is there a big advantage to doing the ARP head studs over just there bolt kits. I am looking to install a set of PP heads I have soon and was just wondering what people thought.

With head bolts there is always the chance that you could pull out the threads in the block when you tighten the bolts down. Head studs provide an even clamping force, and are well worth the extra money. Bob

What is said above and also it makes removing/reinstalling heads a breeze (especialy with MLS gaskets). No coolant in bolt holes.

But isn't it really difficult to get the heads of with head studs? I have head studs and I am going to have to replace my lifters. I was told you would have to drop the motor down to get the passenger side head off?

That is bs. There is plenty of room to pull the heads off in the car. I have done it many times on f bodies.

Cool so with ARP head studs the head will slide off of them? It looks like it wont but looks can be deceiving.

I thought the same thing... I may still end up going with studs... just for the PITA factor if something goes south.

It is not hard to get them off at all. They are a great investment, and I would recommend going the ls6/2 mls gasket also. I think it is like 50 dollars for the pair of gaskets.
